  • 2 July 2008 : This weekend, I did several shoots - the first being my cousin's wedding banquet on the 27th of June.. The 29th of June, I experimented with off camera flash and umbrella diffusers for a bouldering session at Coopers Rock. Finally, on the 30th of June, I did an engagement session for Laura Shahan and Zach DeLeurere - who are getting married in December. Their gallery is here.

15 June 2008 : I did an engagement session of Ryan Deaderick and his Fiance Barb Roebuck in downtown Charleston. I schedule the shoot late in the evening and got near perfect - golden hour lighting on the Wharf for about 5 minutes. Their Gallery is here.

  • 13 June 2008 : I spent the day shooting the New River Mountain Guide's Sport Camp - which was taught by Arno Ilgner and Elaina Smith. We spent the day at Summersville Lake. Unfortunatley, it was very sunny in the morning, but thankfully, some clouds moved in for the second half of the day!

  • 4 June 2008 : I spent three days in my home town - Pittsburgh. Two of the days were rainy, however, I did get one nice sunny day, which I photographed several bridges along the Allegheny River. Below is one of the photos.

  • 1 June 2008 : Several months ago, I received an email from Joel Brady - he had found a bouldering area within 15 minutes of my Hopewell, PA home (near Pittsburgh) - what he has named "Kingston Quarry" turned out to be a small, but high quality bouldering area with maybe 20 problems. The gem of the area is a 200 foot V-really really hard horizontal roof. I photographed Joel on several of the "V5s" which felt more like V6/7 or harder. Below are photos from one of the vertical problems and of the roof. His temporary Gallery can be found here:

  • 30 May 2008 : I had the opportunity to photography Ashley Newcomb and Adam Stephen's egangement session. We shot in the town of Fayetteville - mostly in downtown and the Fayetteville Park. Below is a shot taken on a merry-go-round. The shutter speed was slowed to get the circular blurr effect. Their temp gallery can be found here

  • 27 May 2008 : Another great weekend at the New River Gorge and the Meadow. Light was bright, so I did not get many photos - though I did shoot Greg Kerzhner on SR-71 (8a) in the Hanger at the Meadow. Also, my photos have been featured on the Climbing Magazine website - "New River Rendezvous 2008" click here to check it out.

21 May 2008 : Rendezvous again! What a great event - many call this the best event in the country! Once again, I was asked to photograph the event and also to continue to host the Rendezvous web-gallery. I worked with another photographer - Devaki Murich who is SUPER cool. Using a conglomerate of my and her gear, we mounted a remote strobe above the wall for the dyno comp. Below is an image from the Female Dyno Comp. The Rendezvous Galleries are here.

  • 13 May 2008 : Being more of a photo-journalist and sports shooter, I took a dive into portrait photography. It suprised me how much "easier" it is when your subject isn't moving and you can take a few momement to dial everything in. The difficult then lies in the pose and position of light. I photography my friend David Statler in his backyard - which featured a nice flowering bush.

  • 1 May 2008 : I really like this photo - I was playing Frisbee Golf with some friends and came across this perfect moment in the pines.

  • 29 April 2008: I've posted a lifestyle image taken of Zak Roper on the rim of the New River Gorge.

  • 28 April 2008: The past several weeks, I have been climbing and shooting at the New River Gorge. Once again, working with my wide lens, I've been trying to diversify my style. I've been working with a new camera body and LOVE the color saturation and high ISO performance. Below is a route called "Depth Charge" a 5.12c.

  • 17 April 2008: I've been shooting a good bit - mostly at the Red River Gorge. I've been working with a wider lens - and shooting more horizontals to diversity my portfolio. I am really excited aboutone shot at the Red - a route called Rebar which was shot during the "Golden Hour" which was really only about fifteen minutes. Below is Zak Roper on the route:

  • 20 March 2008: I've partnered with Go Green Bag - Earth Friendly Reusable Bags. Why are disposable plastic bags so bad? Answer: Disposable plastic bags take a very long time to biodegrade, especially if they are not exposed to sunlight. The plastic bags you throw away today will likely be around for the next 400 years. Also, most plastics are manu factored from petroleum and billions of tons of fossil fuels are consumed each year to make plastic bags.

  • 18 March 2008: Little Rock City aka Stone Fort photos are now up. These are here.
  • 17 March 2008: I spent the weekend photographing a Gordon Setter Puppy: Blade. Talk about a tough subject! I felt like more like I was shooting a street fight; he wouldn't stand still for an instant. I've uploaded a series of photos from a red river gorge trip last weekend. You can view these here: www.brayackmedia.com/rrg_cur - I plan on keeping this link active and filling it with my most current Red River Gorge trip photos. I expect to take a ten day trip there starting the 21st of March, so stay posted for photos!
  • 14 March: I was asked to adjust a photo to look like an "old film grain B&W." Researching the world-wide web, I found this excellent source and easily wrote a Photoshop action script.

  • 10 March 2008: I have been doing some major updating here on my website; I've re-done all of my personal galleries (Carlo Nasisse, Matt Fanning, Christina Austin, Ashley "Badash" Hamilton, Max Marlowe, Greg Kerzhner, Jessa Goebel and Stephen Meinhold), using a new Lightroom gallery from the Turning Gate. Also, I've included my "tear sheets." I've been shooting a good bit, though mainly at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. I'm partnering with Go Green Bag "www.gogreenbag.com" which is a great cause - the removal of plastic shopping bags from the world. Also, our friends at the Flynutmuncher.com have been working on a really rad climbing game - Solo Joe. Check out the demo here : Solo Joe Rock Climbing Game
